You know what you are doing, clearly, but for what it is worth … I urge you to publish. I have been involved through a wonderful charity and seen first hand the effect of public engagement in the betterment of prison life.

When the public get involved … the prisons are forced to change.

I taught English to uneducated illiterate inmates. I gained far more than them … and they gained a great deal. I could see a light go on but mostly I could see the value of learning to them, the feeling they were not wasting time.

Hungry to learn and somehow while learning it took them out of the walls that held them captive. I did it for 2-years but I’ve relocated to another country and the program is no longer available.

The more people, like you, who shout … the faster things will change.
