When the same nightmare is constantly repeated, and nothing gets done … it’s on you America.
Uvalde’s mass shooting news was breaking as I woke up this morning. And I am sickened. Not by the deaths, or the tragic loss to families, which is obvious … but by the continuation of this disease.
I am sickened that America allows this madness and disease to continue, unabated in the name of freedom. Where is the freedom in this?
In 1997, recently married, with a young family, I left my birth country of South Africa and moved to the U.K. I was one of the lucky ones who had ancestry rights and was able to relocate.

2006 had three mass shootings — Lancaster County, PA; Seattle, Washington; and Goleta, California.
I was less worried about the shootings, it was the laissez-faire attitude to them that worried me more. It was the mentality of mostly the Republican Party, not just the far right. Prayer cannot solve this. Communities coming together cannot solve this. This requires bi-partisan coming…
