Probably one of the most well recognised political quotes of all time. And it encapsulates PATRIOTISM. It places patriotism before the People, before Country before citizens … it’s all about Country first.

This article is definitely NOT USA-centric, that quote is applicable across the globe. That American Presidential quote encapsulates something that at the time was positive, but has been warped by Power … everywhere.

In its purest form, without defining Country as more than a geographical space, it places COUNTRY (patriotism) before the people, and that in essence is the opposite of democracy. One short hop and we then begin to equate Political PARTY with Country …

Democracy is the will of a MAJORITY of the citizens … not a political party or party leader.
