The Parent Oscars !
Every parent has acquired the above logo on a T-Shirt. Unashamedly. But I still need my Oscar statue. Validation is an underrated desire!!
I don’t get paid to lie … so can’t call myself a “professional” … but with 4 children under my belt, I am qualified. I should at least have been nominated for an OSCAR in the category!
Real actors have props, sound, support, scripts, directors, EDITORS etc. We do it Au Natural!
Honestly, parents are WAY better actors ! And obviously real actors can be both. Parents do incredible “improv” …. we show generous and truthful emotion, on demand!
But, we also take being a liar to the next level.
How you ask:
1) We pretend that we give a shit; and
2) Two words … tooth fairy!
Regarding point 1) it goes without saying that we (should) love our children … and mostly we do give a shit at what ignites the child’s imagination … but let’s be honest … laughing at the same “knock knock” joke for a year, is a skill that no REAL actor can better!
I now laugh hysterically, at the fact I’m still laughing at the same “knock knock” joke after 4 children … I’ve heard it 193 times at least…
