It is the little things that matter. It’s not about the earnings, it’s about it’s impact for me.

A short while back I wrote an article and it has made me zero money, absolutely zero. But has been my № 1 viewed piece and brought me quite a few new followers. These followers are mostly new to Medium as well. And I am immensely proud of it.

I usually write about food and humor, occasionally I dabble in politics and life when a particular issue grabs me. Such as my latest post about the U.K. Health Minister who resigned. He should have been sacked (fired).

I have not ever tried to “up-sell” my stories through social media, or market them. Occasionally I link an article to a piece I’m posting, as I have done here, to highlight a point, not to up-sell it. I know its wrong. I should do more marketing. But I feel embarrassed to do it. Almost shy. I hardly do “friends link”.

But this story has been viewed by mostly external people who have subscribed to Medium to follow me. It clearly shows on my statistics – Just joined, follow one person (me) and one clap – again me. Sadly I will probably let them down because the reason they…
