Personally, I do not like the concept of pinning articles because I am interested in the latest and I usually read most if not all the pieces of the people I follow, plus "browse" the rest for something interesting.
If I see a pinned article of someone I follow, I've usually read the article already - and its a "ball-ache" to then search for latest stuff.
But that's just me.
For me the concept of "following" someone, is that you are "reading-relationally" involved ... I have agreed to follow you ... for a reason. I like your work. So I read it, learn from it and usually enjoy it.
I limit the number of followers - I can only read so much. If I have not enjoyed a piece from a followed person for awhile, I will un-follow. Its not nasty ... but what is the point of following someone if you're not enjoying the pieces they produce, or you're not reading their work.
That is a loveless marriage with no orgasm!! NO?
I do go back and check they were not in a slump, because I know many pieces of MY work are building blocks but lousy reads. We all grow,
