Migration … a practise as old as prostitution !

As we try to control migration it’s clear we’ve learned nothing from our past attempts to stop or control prostitution!

Prostitution and migration probably go hand in hand. They are fuelled by similar internal human wiring. A lonely person flees his home and arrives many months later, thousands of miles from home, lonely, depressed, worried and exhausted but happy to be alive. His only thought has been his survival, but he’s survived now, somehow he’s made it. A natural human instinct kicks in – to procreate and seek human comfort, but this person knows nobody, he is totally alone in a foreign land. So he finds his release, like so many do, in the arms of a prostitute. Prostitution has been playing out like this for hundreds of years. Uninterrupted. It serves a need which supersedes the laws of society. It answers to the law of the jungle, that deep animal instinct burning in all of humanity. A need for companionship, procreation and sexual release. That same instinct explains the boom in babies born after a war? A free democratic society cannot control or regulate for something this deeply intrinsic within our DNA.
