Is there an acceptable half way point to total vegetarianism ?
I would be a reluctant vegetarian. I’m looking for a reasonable compromise. Vegetarianism / veganism falls into three categories: 1) Health; 2) Planetarian; 3) Moral / ethical grounds. If your reason is No. 3, I understand that a compromise for you is nearly impossible – but I believe 1 & 2 have alternatives. I’m definitely in the 1 & 2 category.
I have 4 children. Aged 26;24;16;13 – they’re all ‘socially aware’ and definitely socially active. My wife and I come from a third world country but live in a first world one, London. I can’t help thinking London has a sort of politically correct bubble twice the size of the rest of the U.K. How exactly this happened, is a mystery.
My question is – can the human brain actually contend with all these PC issues and still function effectively? Are they all necessary? I stand corrected on a daily basis – and for such petty stuff. I fear meat eating is one of those issues and has been hijacked by the PC brigade.
My wife and I are in the family minority and apparently part of the worlds problem. Why you enquire? Simply, we consume meat. Not as cannibals mind you, or in a zombie like frenzy, nor are we consumers of the BIG 5, it’s simply because we eat the ‘supermarket 4’ – beef, pork, lamb and chicken.
