I’m in Europe and McD is still the same. And as far as cleanliness goes - people go there to use the toilets because they’re most often clean.

The food is the food. It’s the same as you state … it’s coffee is hot, cheap and reasonably decent … I choose that over Starbucks every time. It’s a tenth of the price for basic coffee, which is all I’m after
