I was just yesterday pontificating how 8 billion souls live on this round ball we call earth and each and every one is so different. We used to applaud our differences, now we riot and fight for having an alternative opinion.

The person I had been speaking to, had posted a video of a fantastic artisanal incredibly well-made small hand knife. My friend had bought it to castrate bulls! He’s a Texan rancher. When I saw it, I thought – brilliant little cheese knife. Then he informed me why he purchased it – I had to laugh. We are good friends and yet so very different. If he’d asked me to guess why he’d bought it – A million guesses would have left me none the wiser. Isn’t that amazing!

If I could get a genie out of a bottle, and make a wish, it would be a wish to experience each difference, in all 8 billion people. Let’s learn to celebrate our differences again. The alternative would be so boring!

Why am I saying all this? You might (rightly) be asking, as I “waffle” on, I read Roz Warren articles – all of them and she doesn’t cook. Probably sees food as “Fuel”, for me food is life. I use WhatsApp a lot, as does my family. I have “group chats” by the bucket load, my messages would total 4 546 546 567 if counted (maybe a slight exaggeration) – if I removed the ones pertaining to food – I’d be left with 7 messages (ok – you’ve got me, I like to exaggerate) … but you get my point (finally).

It takes all sorts. Roz, more than the recipe, I love the email idea – you can’t have too many recipes! Thanks.

Great read.
