I loved reading this. I am positive about the USA's future.
I am not an American citizen, but my middle daughter is, the other three are respectively, South African, British, and Italian passport holders, and my wife is South African. I have travelled and lived in many countries through my work, and I lived in the USA for 7 years. I loved it.
Not all of it, but a lot of it. I just want to say that America could do itself a favour by not saying it is the best country in the world, the freest, etc. It is not. But there is nothing wrong with America that cannot be fixed. And it is better than most.
But Europeans laugh at the idea that mostly untravelled Americans think it is the best. And love telling you. It could learn a lot from other countries, just as those countries could learn from the USA.
What America is going through now, will only make it stronger. You've got to break eggs to make an omelet. At the moment the pan is sizzling. But the omelet is coming.
