I had a Rosti in Interlaken, Switzerland a few years back that was served with
Rote Grütze and a vanilla sauce.
It was incredible. The Rote Grütze is a red/black berry compote that is truly heavenly.
You’d think they wouldn’t work together, potato and a sweet berry sauce - but it did. The sauce has an acidic kick to it.
