I bought an iPhone 4 around 2009. Then got an iPhone 5c and now an 8 - which I love. They’re all working and pristine. No cracks etc.
3 phones in roughly 14 years. I don’t understand my children needing to “upgrade” all the time.
Although on occasion, I’ve considered an upgrade on my children ! Lol 😂
