Great piece. I’m glad I opened the link.
The thing we seldom talk about, is what is being done with our taxes.
Governments are increasingly spending huge sums in superfluous populist ‘wants’ and not needs.
Heathrow is a perfect example. The cost to build a new runway when first passed by Parliament is roughly now, 10% of what has been spent on focus groups, impact studies and “consensus political marketing”.
And now we cannot afford the runway. (Which would create less congestion and go-around aircraft stacking).
I am appalled at the tax dollar waste. The WELL needs to be off-limits to politicians … it’s just too easy for them to dip the bucket 🪣 in and just pull up more water.
Great article James.
