Firstly, I am not anti Jew (anti Semitic). Far from it. And the subject of political correctness is not something that can easily be researched, primarily because it divides opinion so brilliantly, it is contentious, perhaps this is it’s ultimate goal, seeking to divide opinion the same way that modern politics is so divisive throughout the world.
Unquestionably, political correctness is growing deeper culturally and expanding its clutches into more and more areas, which is entirely to our detriment. Plus the politicians and media perpetuate the PC ideology for gain. And if that’s not a good enough reason to get rid of it, I don’t know what is.
Political correctness does very little besides sweep the real issues under the carpet and reduce an opinion about ‘something’ into a discussion about PC … a nothing, thus stifling the original opinion, irrespective of its validity or relevance. For example (and this is a pet peeve) – while making a certain point, I might happen to swear, the direction of the discussion “forks off” (sorry), to become “why did you swear at me” … firstly, I didn’t swear AT you, I simply swore; secondly – can we return to the actual point or is the point now hijacked by PC thinking to become about swearing and grammar and not about the original point?
