Aaah a man after my own heart. When I first moved to Italy, I ate pain au chocolat … in Italy they spread Nutella on anything stationery and eat it.
I’m now sick of the sickly sweet taste of chocolate.
It’s also not a dipping item. Hobnobs ate the go-to for that.
And I’ve learned the secret of filling a croissant with marmalade… it’s having a very sharp knife and starting gently at the crusty tip of one side.
With your entire hand pressing down across the top, palm ✋ touching the full length of the croissant and surgically slashing that sucker open.
Apricot and creamy cheese, when Philadelphia Cream Cheese at a push, if none other is available is my favourite.
God I love a good croissant…
Nearly as much as I love a good story about croissants. And this was a good story …
Why?
Because I’m off to buy a croissant. And a coffee. The story made me.
That’s what good stories do. They change your trajectory.
