A strong Russia is a formidable ally of China and a key block member of the BRICS Organisation. If the USA can destabilise it, (or worse), via a proxy war in Ukraine, it weakens a major economy in BRICS.

If Russia loses, it would have to pay reparations in dollars. And the amount would be staggering. Some estimates put it at 2 trillion dollars ... this is important because it would only be paid in dollars which benefits the USA and it would cripple BRICS combined resources for years to come. This is high-stakes poker for sure.

Since the invasion of Ukraine last year the dollar has strengthened significantly and the cost of this war is literally peanuts for the USA to wage.

The USA has spent 5.6% of its annual military budget - mostly on its own upgraded defense, and in return has wiped out more than 50% of Russia's conventional military capability including more than 100 000 soldiers.

That is a bargain.

Geopolitically the USA is weakening the second biggest military power in the world, with no boots on the ground. and it is weakening an obvious ally to China in the battle that will commence around Taiwan and more importantly, the South China Sea.

Russia has massive natural resources that the USA would love to ensure do not end up in China's hands. Crimea is a vital strategic landmass, with the only deep sea port available to Russia. That port could be a future threat to any conflict in the South China Sea.

Finally, it must be remembered that most NATO countries have entered an arms race due to the escalation in Europe via Russia. The USA has managed to defeat Russia using second-generation upgraded military equipment, which is in many regards somewhat obsolete, it has not used it's latest military technology.

Where do you think NATO countries rushing to upgrade military hardware will go to buy equipment? And in what currency will they buy?

Finally, the reconstruction of Ukraine will be overseen by the USA and a thankful Ukraine will forever be in its pocket.

For this reason, watch if Ukraine is allowed into NATO immediately. I predict it will not be because that weakens the USA's hold on the reconstruction purse strings of Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine has weakened both Russia and China (through Bric's) which in turn strengthens the USA and the dollar.

Yes, the dollar will still fall, and sooner rather than later it will be linked to Gold, but the USA has bought some more time before that happens in reality.
